Carl Johnson, a designer/fabricator in assistive technology since 1981 for the state of Massachusetts, will be visiting Portland. He’s stopping by the ASO office to share some of the safety-related devices he has developed for children on the autism spectrum. These devices can be copied by people who are handy with tools, no special equipment needed. His devices deal with:
- elopement
- refrigerator access
- windows (breakage and elopement)
- fauets (kitchen and bathroom flooding)
- cabinets
- car seat belts
- and more ….
