Group Leader, Melodie talks about the Budding Writers Group:

“This group will help to build the  visual, motor and attention skills that children need to become successful in handwriting. Children that avoid or seem to struggle with fine motor activities such as playing with play-do, building with Legos, cutting or coloring will gain skills to help them participate. In the Budding Writers Group, children will participate in arts and craft and sensory exploration activities that will hep them learn how to grip and hold a pencil and scissors, learn how to use both hands together to manage supplies, and learn how to form the pre-writing strokes that are needed when learning how to form letters. Drawing from the  Handwriting Without Tears methods, this group uses a developmental approach to writing. Children 4-7 years old who attend this group will complete a daily project and parents will learn how to support learning new skills at home.”

These Occupational Therapy led groups will be  Tuesdays 3:30-4:30pm  4 sessions (2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23)
